Stars out for Brecon Jazz 2009
South African piano legend Abdullah Ibrahim, Cameroonian saxophonist Manu Dibango and the Tunisian oud master Anouar Brahem will headline the 2009 Brecon Jazz Festival from August 7 to 9.

HSBC Brecon Jazz is saddened at the death of the jazz pianist and composer Esbjorn Svensson.
The Swedish jazz legend passed away yesterday in Stockholm. He was 44 years old. HSBC Brecon Jazz Festival Director, Jim Smith, said, "The Brecon Jazz team and I are extremely saddened by Esbjorn Svensson's untimely death. I'm sure I speak for many people in saying that it was truly a privilege to watch this man perform. He was a legend in the true sense of the word. My thoughts are with his family at this time."
